The Global Military Advisory Council on Climate Change (GMACCC) – founded in 2009 - serves as an authoritative voice on the need for, and the nature of, action to be taken by the security community to reduce the risks posed to national security by a changing climate. The Council consists of 40 serving and retired military personnel and other security experts and 9 partners organisations from 20 countries working together to highlight the security implications of a changing climate.
